UKAAN 2024 Conference
The UK Adult ADHD Network (UKAAN) will host a 3-day conference on 16th, 17th and 18th April 2024 at the Mermaid Conference and Events Centre in London. The 16th will start at 1300 preceded by refreshments from midday, followed by a welcome reception for all at the end of the first day. The 17th will be full day’s conference to include symposiums and poster session whilst the final day presentations on the 18th will close at 1330. The venue is situated between the City and the West End, on the North Bank of the Thames, and enjoys spectacular views towards the Tate Modern, Globe Theatre and the Millennium Bridge.
Our vision for the conference
The meeting will celebrate 15 years of the UK Adult ADHD Network. Throughout this time we have seen a rapid advance in our understanding of how ADHD presents in adulthood and much better recognition of ADHD across adult mental health and neurodevelopmental services, leading to significantly more people getting access to relevant treatment for the first time in the lives. UKAAN has significantly increased the number of training sessions it delivers during recent years and now delivers in-person as well as online options for its Diagnostic Assessment, Pharmacological Treatment and Psychosocial Treatment for Adult ADHD training courses.
In recent years we have seen an unprecedented increase in ADHD diagnostic assessment requests putting enormous strain on adult ADHD services across the UK. This conference will focus on three main themes: (1) Consolidate – a focus on what good quality diagnostic assessments and treatments should look like; (2) Integrate – bringing into focus areas often avoided i.e., psychosocial treatment, comorbidities (e.g., somatic comorbidity) and gender differences; and (3) Innovate – a focus on utilising technology to advance understanding and treatment of ADHD, and learning from service development models across different countries.
The conference therefore aims to raise the knowledge and expertise among health care professionals working with adults with ADHD through a program covering an extensive range of topics delivered by prominent opinion leaders and internationally recognised clinical experts and investigators.
