Profile
Personal Introduction:
My name is Costandache Gina, I am a resident doctor from Romania in my fourth year of adult psychiatry training, currently working in a university hospital. Throughout my residency, I have developed a strong clinical interest in neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly adult ADHD. This interest has been enhanced by my participation in the two-year ECNP course on ADHD, which provided in-depth insights into the diagnosis and management of this condition.

In my clinical work, I focus on the identification and management of ADHD in adults, particularly addressing the challenges posed by late diagnosis and the often complex presentations involving comorbid psychiatric conditions, such as mood disorders, anxiety, and substance use disorders. I am especially interested in the gender-specific aspects of ADHD, as well as how ADHD presents differently in women compared to men.
I aim to contribute to improving the recognition of adult ADHD within general psychiatric settings, where the disorder is often underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed. I am also eager to engage in research that explores innovative diagnostic tools and treatment approaches, as well as the long-term outcomes of adults diagnosed with ADHD. This includes exploring how early intervention and personalized treatment plans can positively impact the quality of life for individuals with ADHD.
Through ongoing clinical work and future research, I am committed to furthering our understanding of adult ADHD and contributing to the development of effective, evidence-based treatment strategies that are sensitive to the unique needs of this patient population.
